Topic: Workplace Violence: Understanding and Defusing the Violent Mind
As the global economy struggles, incidents of hostility, anger, and threat of violence in the workplace occur more frequently. Typical responses to threatening situations in the workplace do little to defuse hostile and violent individuals. This presentation will provide a combined psychological and law enforcement perspective on why people become hostile and violent. When the attitudes, beliefs and mental images of these individuals are clearly understood, effective defusing and redirecting strategies become available.
Additionally, components of a defensible workplace violence program will be discussed.
