Herman Miller Security Officer - Part Time
This is an entry-level Security Officer position: Protects corporate property and personnel against fire, theft, vandalism, illegal entry and other hazards. Patrols and monitors premises to ensure they are secure and cooperates with civil law enforcement agencies, investigates and reports suspicious or unusual occurences, and assists in fire prevention, and hazardous response / other emergency situations.
The hours will be 11:30 PM - 11:30 AM Friday and Saturday nights every weekend.

Essential Functions:
- Drives security vehicles and walks foot patrols, inspecting facilities for security violations and safety hazards.
- Conducts investigations, writes reports and provides a wide variety of both urgent and non-urgent assistance to all levels of the organization to prevent loss to the company and / or its employees. These activities may include: first aid, fire suppression system inspection and understanding, substance abuse investigation, Haz-Mat response, severe weather response, and incident command procedures.
- Performs additional responsibilities as required
Minimum Requirements:
- A high school diploma or GED with some college is required. College degrees are preferred.
- Requires ability to interact with all levels of the organization effectively and to develop cross-functional relationships within a team-oriented culture.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively use office automation / communication software and tools currently used in the HMI office environment.
- Must be able to write and speak English effectively.
- Must possess a valid driver's license with a good driving record.
- Must successfully complete the Security Officer I training requirements as outlined in the Leading Practices Security Manual.
- Officers and candidates must not have any felony convictions; misdemeanor convictions are subject to review.
- Requires flexibility and the ability to work when called in with short notice.
- Must be able to perform all essential job functions with or without accommodation.
