West Michigan ASIS Chapter 095

Welcome to the West Michigan ASIS website.  This site is a resource for our membership and the larger community with an interest in security issues within West Michigan.  Our member meetings, events, and activities are communicated through this site.  Active members also have the ability to contact and network with other West Michigan ASIS members utilizing the membership listing available with a proper username and password.

As our chapter works to keep members informed and share news about the security profession watch for this site to grow and become a key resource filled with helpful information.

At our April Chapter meeting we had Mike Moll of the Department of Homeland Security as a guest speaker.  The topic was Terrorism & Critical Infrastructure Survey Tools for West Michigan Business.

Michael E. “Mike” Moll currently serves as the Protective Security Advisor (PSA) for the Grand Rapids, Michigan District.  Mr. Moll supports homeland security efforts, serving in an advising and reach-back capacity to state Homeland Security Advisors.  He contributes to the development of the national risk picture by assisting with the identification, assessment, monitoring, and minimizing of risk to critical assets at the local level.

Our chapter members who attended the 3rd Annual Emergency Response Workshop in October were able to hear some great presentations.  We've added two of those presentations to our website.

Emergency Plan Development -  This presentation was by Lieutenant Jack Stewart of Kent County Emergency Management.  It outlines the Incident Command Structure.  The county LEPC website has many emergency management resources at this link, including the link to Lieutenant Stewart's presentation here.

Building Safety - Amway Chief of Fire Protection, Mike Larabel, make a presentation on building safety.  For those members who could not attend, we have a link to his presentation here.
